Hike to Willacaurane & Petacane Apacheta

We will begin our journey promptly as you are collected from your accommodation in Putre, proceeding towards the stunning Andean foothills that grace the Chilean altiplano in the northern region.

The first leg of our trek initiates at an elevation of 3460 meters, where we will embark on a 7-hour hiking expedition. This segment will lead us to Willacaurane, an important archaeological site renowned for its rock paintings, believed to date back between 4000 and 6000 years.

After immersing ourselves in these ancient artistic expressions, we will advance towards Petacane Apacheta. This revered Andean peak is a site for numerous religious observances, and here we will engage in the second phase of our trek to soak in the breathtaking mountain vistas.

During our journey, we will pause for relaxation and to savor the splendid views while enjoying a picnic featuring sandwiches, dried fruits, chocolates, and natural juices. Post-lunch, we will continue our exploration of this stunning natural landscape in northern Chile.

Finally, we will retrace our steps back to the starting point of our hike, after which we will transport you back to your hotel in Putre. Expect to arrive at your accommodation around 6 to 7 hours following the initial pickup.
