Silfra Snorkelling & Golden Circle Tour
Description
Experience snorkeling between two tectonic boundaries at Silfra while discovering the stunning landscapes of Iceland on this essential Golden Circle tour departing from Reykjavik.
Silfra Snorkeling & Golden Circle Experience
At 8 am, we will collect you from your accommodation in Reykjavik and head towards Silfra. Recognized by National Geographic as one of the top dive locations worldwide, Silfra boasts a visibility of up to 393 feet (120 meters). Here, you will enjoy the chance to snorkel in these crystal-clear waters and take in the surroundings firsthand!
You will be captivated by the vibrant blue hues of this underwater realm and explore the aquatic vegetation clinging to the canyon walls. Highlights include Silfra Hall, the widest point of the fissure, and the stunning Silfra Cathedral, the deepest area of the canyon. The breathtaking views will leave you spellbound throughout your visit!
Following the snorkeling adventure, we will board the minibus and travel to Thingvellir, Iceland's most renowned national park. Once there, we will stroll through this remarkable landscape towards the Almannagjá canyon, situated between two continental tectonic plates.
Next, we will journey to a section of the park famous for its geysers, offering a chance to see these extraordinary natural phenomena. Prepare to be amazed by the powerful Strokkur geyser, which erupts jets of boiling water every ten minutes, some reaching heights of up to 98 feet (30 meters)!
As we continue along the Golden Circle route, we will arrive at the magnificent Gulfoss Waterfalls, a highlight of the trip. Known as "Golden Falls" in Icelandic, the cascades here are truly memorable.
Set against a backdrop of stunning natural beauty, you will have 45 minutes of leisure for lunch. Feel free to bring your own meal or visit a local restaurant to savor traditional Icelandic cuisine.
After your meal, we will embark on our journey back to Reykjavik, with an estimated arrival time at your hotel around 6 pm.
