The Reykjavik Tourist Bus provides an accessible way to explore the Icelandic capital at your own rhythm. With its 15 designated stops, you can hop on and off as you wish, allowing you to discover the city’s iconic landmarks.
Reykjavik Tourist Bus Route & Stops
The bus route takes you through Reykjavik's key attractions. Completing the entire circuit takes about 60 minutes, but you have the flexibility to hop on and hop off at any of the 15 stops along the way. During the journey, you can enjoy informative recorded commentary in English regarding the landmarks, making your experience both educational and entertaining.
Key stops along the route include the contemporary Harpa concert hall, the impressive Hallgrímskirkja church, and Laugardalur Valley, a public park featuring geothermal pools open for swimming throughout the year.

How does it work?
Your ticket is valid for 24 hours from the first use. For instance, if you start using your ticket on Monday at 3 pm, it will remain valid until Tuesday at 3 pm. During this period, you can hop on and off the bus as many times as you wish at any of the stops, allowing you to explore Reykjavik's main landmarks at your leisure and customize your itinerary according to your interests.
Operating times
- From October to April, the Reykjavik Tourist Bus runs from 9:30 am to 4:15 pm, with departures every 45 minutes.
- From May to September, the departures occur every 30 minutes from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
- The buses operate daily, except on June 17, and August 6 and 20, when services are not available. The full route duration is one hour.
Important information
- When booking, you'll need to select a start day, but you can begin using the service within 3 months of the selected date.
- Post-reservation, you will receive a voucher that must be printed and presented on the first bus you board.
- Please note: stop 9 is temporarily out of service.
