Description

Discover the stunning southern coastline of Iceland, characterized by its dramatic volcanic landscapes and breathtaking waterfalls. An experience you won't want to miss!

South Coast Waterfalls Exploration

Commencing our journey from designated pickup locations in Reykjavík, we'll set out at the appointed time. Prepare yourself to explore the essential attractions along Iceland’s south coast.

  • Skógafoss
  • Vík
  • Reynisfjara
  • Seljalandsfoss

Our adventure begins as we follow the southern coastline, taking in the expansive lava fields at the base of Hengill Mountain. If the weather permits, we might catch glimpses of the Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull volcanoes, in addition to the majestic Vestmannaeyjar islands.

Next, we arrive at the Skógafoss waterfall, where the river cascades over 196 feet (60 meters), producing a spectacular curtain of water. This is a perfect opportunity to witness the beauty of the falls and capture photographs of the rainbows that often appear amidst the mist on sunny days.

Having appreciated the stunning coastal landscape, we'll head towards the quaint village of Vík. Here, you'll have approximately one hour to enjoy lunch. Fun fact: this is the southernmost town in the country.

Our next stop will be the renowned Reynisfjara beach, celebrated for its striking basalt towers that rise dramatically from the ocean. We will take time to explore this remarkable black pebble beach while hearing tales of the nasty trolls who sought to wreck a ship against the rocks...

Following this, we'll make our way to the magnificent Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Here, we'll ascend the nearby hill to reach a unique cave behind the waterfall. From this vantage point, marvel at the stunning views of the Icelandic scenery framed by the flowing water.

After an enriching 10.5 to 11 hours immersed in the wonders of Iceland’s southern coast, we will return to the original pickup locations in Reykjavík.
