Explore a different perspective of Rio de Janeiro through a guided walking tour of the Rocinha favela, where you will uncover the lesser-known and intriguing aspects of Brazilian favelas.

Tour Details

We will convene at the designated time at exit A of the São Conrado metro station. From there, our journey will commence with a motorbike taxi ride followed by walking through the Rocinha favela.

Our first stop will be the Rocinha Viewpoint, followed by the Craft Fair. After that, we will visit the Capoeira Project, where you will witness the community’s youth engaging in maculelê, capoeira, samba, and passinho de funk. Next, we will head to a local residence to appreciate the panoramic views from the rooftop.

The tour will proceed to the gallery featuring artist Wark and the Castelinho court, known as a hub for social interaction and change. Continuing, we will stroll along the vibrant Funk Street and Via Ápia, recognized as the liveliest street in Rocinha and its central marketplace.

To conclude our experience, we will visit Acadêmicos da Rocinha, the traditional samba school of the community.

Tour Options

While making your reservation, you can select from the following options:

• Standard Rocinha Favela Tour: encompasses the full guided experience outlined in the itinerary.
• Tour + Drone Footage: you will follow the same path as the standard tour, but with an added twist—a team will capture approximately 10 minutes of footage along the route, and you will receive an edited video afterwards as a unique keepsake.
• Tour + Lunch: in addition to the standard experience, you will savor a tasty lunch at Mirante da Rocinha restaurant, featuring two options each for appetizers, main courses, and desserts. Please be aware that this option is unavailable on Wednesdays.
