Explore a different perspective of Rio de Janeiro through this guided walking tour of the Rocinha favela, where you will uncover the less familiar yet fascinating areas of Brazilian favelas.

Tour Details

We'll assemble at exit A of the São Conrado metro station at the scheduled time, after which we will embark on a journey by motorbike taxi and on foot throughout the Rocinha favela.

Our first stop will be the Rocinha Viewpoint, followed by a visit to the Craft Fair. Next, we'll proceed to the Capoeira Project, where we’ll observe local youth engaging in maculelê, capoeira, samba, and passinho de funk. The tour will also include a visit to a local residence, where you'll have the chance to enjoy the panoramic views from the rooftop.

The journey continues to the gallery of the artist Wark and the Castelinho court, a site aimed at community engagement and transformation. Subsequently, we’ll stroll along the well-known Funk Street and Via Ápia, recognized as the heartbeat of Rocinha, bustling with commercial activities.

To conclude our tour, we will stop at Acadêmicos da Rocinha, the beloved samba school of the community.

• Standard Rocinha Favela Tour: features the entire guided experience outlined in the itinerary.
• Tour + Drone Footage: follow the same path as the standard tour, with the added experience of being filmed for about 10 minutes. An edited video will be provided to you afterwards.
• Tour + Lunch: in addition to the standard tour, savor a delightful meal at the Mirante da Rocinha restaurant, which offers two options each for starters, main courses, and desserts. Please note that this option is unavailable on Wednesdays.
