In this excursion to Niterói, we will delve into the works of the prominent architect Oscar Niemeyer by visiting several of his most famous constructions. The highlight of our visit will be the Museum of Contemporary Art, which stands as a pivotal landmark in the region.

Excursion Overview

Our journey will commence with a pickup from your Rio de Janeiro hotel at the arranged time, as we head toward the neighboring city of Niterói. Are you prepared for the adventure?

As we travel, we will cross the stunning Guanabara Bay and the remarkable Rio-Niterói Bridge. This scenic route offers breathtaking panoramic views of Rio de Janeiro, showcasing its majestic mountains and historical architecture.

Upon arrival, we will initiate the Niemeyer Route. This guided path includes a selection of buildings crafted by Oscar Niemeyer, developed as part of a significant urban and cultural regeneration initiative in the city.

Throughout our exploration, we will visit notable sites such as the Teatro Popular, the Oscar Niemeyer Foundation, the Roberto Silveira Memorial, Praça JK, and the contemporary Petrobras Brazilian Cinema Center. At each landmark, insights into the architectural evolution of the city will be shared.

Our tour will conclude at the Museum of Contemporary Art. This structure, regarded as one of Niemeyer's iconic works, boasts a striking circular design that appears to hover above the Boa Viagem viewpoint, offering magnificent vistas of Rio de Janeiro's skyline.
