Embark on an exciting journey as we ascend to the stunning Pedra da Gávea. Standing at nearly 3,000 ft (844 m) above Rio, the summit offers breathtaking views that make you feel on top of the world!
Activity Details
We'll convene at the designated hour at the Point da Meire café located in Rio de Janeiro. A brief stroll will take us to the entrance of Tijuca National Park.
Upon arrival, our hiking adventure begins as we make our way towards the summit of Pedra da Gávea. During this trek, we will encounter a rich variety of native flora and fauna that embodies Brazil's natural beauty.
Reaching the peak of Pedra da Gávea is a cherished aspiration for both locals and visitors, offering some of the most breathtaking viewpoints in Rio de Janeiro. It’s recognized as the world’s largest coastal monolith, enhancing its allure!
From the top, we will take in the vistas of Guanabara Bay alongside renowned beaches like Ipanema, Leblon, Barra da Tijuca, and São Conrado. Moreover, we'll view several peaks in Tijuca National Park, including Pico da Tijuca, Bico do Papagaio, Pedra Bonita, and Corcovado. On clear days, the distant mountains of the Serra dos Órgãos may also greet our sight.
The path features various climbing and rappelling sections, offering an immersive experience in the local wilderness. We’ll pause intermittently to rest and enjoy snacks that participants should bring along.
Following the adventure, we will return to our original meeting point in Rio, marking the end of this 8-hour excursion.

The guide will be wearing a green Nattrip shirt.
We recommend you bring light clothing for hiking, sunscreen, insect repellent, sports shoes with good grip, light snacks, and at least 3 liters of water.
