Day Trip Choices
When you book your excursion, you will have the opportunity to select from the following options:
Serra dos Órgãos Day Excursion
At the agreed time, we will collect you from your hotel in Rio de Janeiro to commence our journey to Serra dos Órgãos, which showcases the natural allure of the Atlantic Forest.
Leaving the urban area behind, we will travel for approximately 50 minutes until we reach the entrance of the Serra dos Órgãos National Park, particularly at the Sede Guapimirim sector. Upon arrival, we will start our exploration in this area known for its towering peaks, serene natural pools, and vibrant forests.
Our first destination will be Poço Verde, a prominent feature of the park celebrated for its crystal-clear waters and striking emerald hue. Here, you'll have the chance to take a refreshing swim while surrounded by nature's beauty.
Continuing along the scenic trails, we'll encounter several impressive waterfalls, including Poço da Ponte Velha, Poço da Capela, and Poço da Preguiça. Prepare to capture numerous photos! During the hike, we will share intriguing insights about the local flora and fauna that characterize Serra dos Órgãos.
Next, we will proceed to Mirador do Soberbo, where stunning vistas of the park’s mountains and valleys await. We'll pause for a leisurely lunch at your convenience to recharge.
Refreshed, we will retrace our steps along the Serra dos Órgãos trails returning to our starting point. Ultimately, we will bring the day's adventure to a close about 7 hours later as we drop you back at your hotel in Rio.
Serra dos Órgãos Viewpoints Hiking Expedition
If you opt for this choice, we will pick you up from your hotel in Rio de Janeiro and head to Teresópolis, located within the Serra dos Órgãos National Park. Here, we’ll embark on a hike covering approximately 1.2 kilometers (0.75 miles), climbing for around 1 hour to reach a viewpoint situated at 1,320 meters (4,330 feet) above sea level.
This vantage point offers a stunning perspective of the Dedo de Deus peak along with other remarkable rock formations found within the Atlantic Forest. We will then proceed to the Boranda Viewpoint, which provides dazzling panoramic scenes of the surrounding mountains, including notable peaks such as Escalavrado, Dedo de Nossa Senhora, Cabeça de Peixe, and Pico Coroa do Frade.
Our itinerary will also include a visit to the Mozart Catão Viewpoint, allowing us to enjoy views of the Teresópolis cityscape. After plenty of time to relax and take photographs, we will descend back to the parking area.
Before concluding our day and heading back to Rio, we will stop at a local restaurant where you can purchase sweets and typical products from the region. Finally, after around 7 hours since the start, we will return you to your hotel.
