Sugarloaf Cable Car Tickets
Description
With this pass, you will journey on the renowned Sugarloaf cable car, taking in the stunning vistas of Rio de Janeiro from an elevation of 1,299 ft (396 m). The breathtaking views of Copacabana and Guanabara Bay will be right below you!
Sugarloaf Bondinho
This ticket grants you access to ride the Sugarloaf cable car, a must-experience attraction in Rio de Janeiro. This towering granite formation is recognized as a major emblem of Brazil, seamlessly blending natural beauty with urban scenery, providing a unique view of the "Cidade Maravilhosa".
Your experience begins at the base station of the Bondinho, where you will enter a modern cabin designed for full panoramic views with 360° vistas of the city. The name Sugarloaf Bondinho harks back to 1912, when the cable car was first launched, with its cabins resembling the streetcars, known as bondes, that were popular in Rio at that time. The smaller, suspended style earned it the affectionate nickname "Bondinho" among locals.
The ascent via cable car is divided into two stages. The initial stop at Morro da Urca, standing at 722 ft (220 m) above sea level, already offers captivating views. The final segment will carry you to the peak of Sugarloaf Mountain, at a breathtaking height of 1,299 ft (396 m), providing a truly exceptional panorama.
During the ascent, you will take in sights of Copacabana Beach, Botafogo Bay, and the magnificent Guanabara Bay. Each portion of the cable car ride lasts roughly 3 minutes.
Once you reach the summit, you can explore the area at your leisure. It's recommended to visit the various viewpoints, wander through the Arts Forest featuring open-air sculptures, or enjoy the sunset accompanied by live DJ sessions. It's an experience not to be missed!
