Tijuca National Park Off-Roading Tour
Description
Feel the thrill of nature as you embark on a complimentary Jeep tour of Tijuca National Park. Discover the wonders of the largest urban forest globally!
Tour Overview
Our adventure commences at 59 Paulino Fernandes Street, where we will set off on an exciting Jeep journey through Tijuca National Park, a vast and well-preserved urban forest. Stay alert as we spot various wildlife, including turtles, coatis, fish, monkeys, and more during our ride.
The first stop is the stunning Vista Chinesa viewpoint, renowned for its Eastern-style pagoda that provides breathtaking panoramic views of the southern part of the city and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. Here, you'll learn about the lagoon's history and its significance related to tea farming in Brazil.
Following this, we will traverse the Taunay Trail, taking us to Cascatinha, the tallest waterfall in the park. We will pause for approximately 40 minutes, allowing you to take a refreshing dip in the natural pool.
Once rejuvenated, our journey continues to the delightful Mayrink Chapel, located deep within the forest, exuding a peaceful atmosphere. From there, we will visit the enormous jackfruit tree, known for producing the largest fruit on the planet!
Our exploration leads us to the Tijuca National Park visitor center, where you can interact with the permanent exhibition titled 'A Forest in the Metropolis.' To wrap up our tour, we’ll stop at the historical Solidão Lake reservoir, a site steeped in history.
At the end of our adventure, we will return to our meeting point, completing a delightful 3-hour excursion.
