Our journey begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Rovaniemi. We will embark on a bus ride heading north, which lasts approximately 1.5 hours until we arrive at the Lappish village of Luosto, close to the Lampivaara amethyst mine.

To ascend the hill where the mine is situated, you will board a snowcat, designed to glide through the snowy landscape along an exquisite path amid the stunning, snow-blanketed forests of Finland. During summer visits, this route will be traversed directly by vehicle.

Upon reaching the peak, we will take a short stroll to the amethyst mine, which has a history spanning over 2,000 years. Here, we will participate in a guided tour of the woodworking area, delving into the various applications of amethyst in jewelry. This gemstone is regarded as the most celebrated and symbolic mineral of Lapland. You will be captivated by its rich violet hue and radiant brilliance.

You will also have the chance to explore the digging area, where you can excavate your own amethyst specimens and keep them as mementos from your visit to one of the rare gemstone mines globally that accommodates tourists.

As you emerge from the depths of the Lampivaara mine, take a moment to savor the breathtaking vistas of the surrounding landscape from this elevated spot. Remember to capture these moments with your camera!

After this enchanting adventure, we will make our way back to Rovaniemi, culminating in about five hours of engaging activity.
