This activity offers a remarkable opportunity to experience a boat excursion in Campeche, allowing you to observe dolphins in their natural habitat near the serene Aguada Island, situated along the Yucatan's western shore.

Experience Dolphin Watching at Aguada Island

Your day begins at 9 am with a pickup from the Ocean View Hotel in Campeche. We'll then proceed by road to the local fishermen's dock adjacent to the scenic boardwalk of the Magic Town of Aguada Island.

Upon reaching the dock, we will board a tranquil boat for our adventure. As we cruise along the Aguada Island coastline, you will have the chance to witness bottlenose dolphins as they gracefully swim through the waters. These playful creatures can reach speeds of up to 6 knots (approximately 6.9 mph or 11 kph).

Continuing our voyage, we will navigate into the heart of Términos Lagoon. Here, in a landscape dominated by verdant mangroves, we will pause at Isla de los Pájaros (Bird Island). You will have two hours to relax, take a refreshing swim, and enjoy a well-deserved break – remember to bring along your picnic!

While on the sandy shores of Bird Island, take a moment to appreciate the variety of bird species that inhabit this beautiful location. The unique environmental conditions support a diverse ecosystem, allowing us to spot and identify various birds by their distinctive plumage.

Finally, we will make our way back to the Aguada Island dock. After disembarking, we will return by road to San Francisco de Campeche, with an expected arrival time of 5 pm.

The waters off Aguada Island and Ciudad del Carmen are renowned for dolphin and other cetacean sightings along the Yucatan coast.
