Diving at Laguna de la Media Luna

Your adventure begins at 7 am with a pickup from your hotel in San Luis Potosí. Following this, we'll make our way to the Laguna de la Media Luna, located in Rio Verde. Are you ready to dive? Let’s embark on this journey!

After approximately 90 minutes on the road, we'll arrive at the Media Luna diving school, where a mandatory diving safety course will be provided to ensure your readiness for the underwater exploration.

Equipped and prepared, we'll proceed to the lagoon where we will fit you with the essential diving gear. The most exciting part is approaching! We will commence a dive lasting around 40 minutes, during which you’ll encounter petrified trees, unique underwater caves, and various marine species.

As we explore the depths, you’ll come across the remains of two mammoth skeletons, earning this site the nickname of Mammoth Lake beyond Mexico's borders. The preservation of these ancient relics is attributed to the lagoon’s karst formation.

Throughout the dive, we’ll share intriguing facts and stories hidden within these crystal-clear waters. The lake maintains an average temperature of around 20ºC (60ºF), featuring remarkable depths of up to 36.7 meters (120 feet).

Upon completing our dive, we’ll enjoy a snack to replenish our energy. Next, you’ll have the chance to continue your exploration of the lake, swimming and absorbing the beauty of the surrounding natural scenery. At 3 pm, a delightful lunch awaits, followed by our journey back to the city.

Your diving adventure will conclude with a return to your hotel in San Luis Potosí by 7 pm.
