Description
The free tour of San Sebastian is an ideal way to explore the vibrant streets of this captivating city in northern Spain. Experience its landmarks and vibrant traditions as you stroll through the old town.
Free Walking Tour of San Sebastian
We will meet at a central location in San Sebastian at the scheduled time. The walking tour will commence through the historic center of this beautiful Basque city, renowned for La Concha beach and its delectable pinchos!
Our first stop will be Plaza Guipúzcoa, one of the city’s most iconic areas and the seat of local government. Afterward, we will continue to Alameda del Boulevard, the main shopping district that connects the old and new sections of Donostia (the Basque name for San Sebastian!).
Next, we will visit Plaza de la Constitución, famous for hosting the annual tamborrada. As we walk by the Church of San Vicente, the oldest monument in San Sebastian, we will discuss the history of this significant cultural festival.
Following this, we will explore the streets lined with pincho spots (a popular type of Basque tapas consisting of fish, meat, or other delicacies on bread, secured with a toothpick) and uncover their importance in local culture and society. San Sebastian has repeatedly been recognized as one of the world's premier gastronomic destinations, and the reasons are unmistakable!
Our tour will conclude at Calle Mayor, where you will find the Baroque basilica of Santa María del Coro. We will wrap up the activity at Donosti port after a duration of 2 to 2.5 hours.
