Floreana Island & Enderby Islet Day Trip
Description
Are you ready to discover the underwater wonders of the Galapagos archipelago? Join us for an extraordinary day trip to Floreana Island and Enderby Islet, where you will snorkel in stunningly clear waters and delve into captivating pirate history!
Tour Description
At the designated time, we will collect you from your accommodation on Santa Cruz Island and proceed to the Puerto Ayora dock, marking the beginning of our expedition towards Floreana and Enderby, two of the archipelago's enchanting locations.
After approximately 1.5 hours of sailing, we will reach Enderby Island, a genuine haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Here, you will embark on a panga ride, a small Ecuadorian boat, navigating around the cliffs to observe bird species like the blue-footed boobies, frigate birds, and an abundance of marine iguanas.
Following that, we will plunge into the island's crystal-clear waters for an exhilarating snorkeling experience amidst sea turtles, sea lions, eagle rays, and vibrant tropical fish. Our journey will then continue to Punta Cormorant, located on the northern shore of Floreana Island.
You will have the chance to enjoy a leisurely hike along a trail nestled among endemic vegetation, taking us to the largest flamingo lagoon in the archipelago. We will also visit a remarkable green sand beach, renowned for its rich deposits of olivine crystals. Additional snorkeling opportunities await here, where you might even catch a glimpse of the rare white-tip reef sharks that inhabit the waters. An experience you won't want to miss!
Afterward, we will return to the boat, where you can savor a delightful lunch showcasing traditional Ecuadorian cuisine as we navigate to our next destination: Cueva de los Piratas (Pirates' Cave). Here, we'll delve into the fascinating backstory of this historic pirate refuge.
Finally, we will head back to our original departure point, concluding a comprehensive 9-hour adventure throughout some of the most captivating sites in the Galapagos.
