5-Day Tour of Santa Cruz & Isabela Islands

Day 1: Arrival at Isla Santa Cruz

Your adventure begins upon landing at the airport, where a transfer will take you to your accommodation on Santa Cruz Island. Your first destination will be the Charles Darwin Research Station.

At this facility, you will gain insights into its important conservation efforts aimed at the Galapagos giant tortoise, discovering how they rehabilitate and safeguard these remarkable endangered species.

Your day concludes with a return to your hotel on Santa Cruz Island.

Day 2: Santa Cruz to Isabela Island

After enjoying a nutritious breakfast, you will embark on a ferry to Isabela Island. As you navigate towards this vast island, be captivated by its dramatic volcanic scenery and the striking contrast of dark rocks against the inviting turquoise waters.

While exploring the southern regions of Isabela, you will encounter an extraordinarily rich biodiversity that stems from its volcanic origins. From endemic tortoise subspecies to sightings of flamingos, penguins, and both marine and land iguanas, Isabela presents an unforgettable ecological bounty.

Your second night will be spent on Isabela Island.

Day 3: Exploration of Las Tintoreras

The day begins with a visit to Las Tintoreras, a cluster of small islets, some merely rocks protruding from the ocean and located in a bay to the south of Isabela Island. Also referred to as Tintorera or Villamil, this area boasts remarkable biodiversity despite its compact size. Keep an eye out for sea lions and distinctive blue-footed boobies lounging on the volcanic rocks, with free time to explore at your leisure.

Afterward, we will return to Isabela Island and board a ferry that will take us back to Santa Cruz for the night.

Day 4: Discovering Isla Santa Cruz

On the fourth day, you will embark on a tour that takes you to the crucial highlights of Isla Santa Cruz. Visit five different notable locations around the Academy Bay.

Snorkeling adventures await in the clear waters of the shark channel, love channel, dog channel, and Las Grietas.

In the afternoon, a journey to the higher region of Isla Santa Cruz will reveal some of the area’s main attractions. This includes a ranch where you can observe turtles in their natural habitat as well as the fascinating lava tunnels, offering insights into the various volcanic eruptions that shaped the islands.

Later, you will visit Los Gemelos, impressive crater sinkholes formed by past volcanic activity.

You will return to your hotel in Santa Cruz for a restful night.

Day 5: Departure from Isla Santa Cruz

Enjoy a final breakfast at your hotel before being transported back to the airport, concluding your remarkable journey through the Galapagos Islands.
