Activity Overview
Are you ready to dive into one of Brazil’s most extraordinary environments? Your journey begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Santo Amaro in a robust off-road vehicle. As we leave the town behind, the paved streets give way to the wild beauty of the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park.
Keep your camera handy because we will navigate sandy paths across a vast expanse of shifting white dunes sculpted by the wind. As we traverse these undulating hills, breathtaking panoramic views will unfold before you, showcasing the pristine beauty of Lençóis Maranhenses.
Our first destination will be the captivating Andorinhas Lagoon. As we near the lagoon, the vibrant contrast of crystal-clear water against bright sands is remarkable. Below the dunes, a water-retaining layer captures rainwater, creating these stunning freshwater lakes. The water here is clean, serene, and surprisingly warm, ideal for a refreshing dip.
Next, we’ll proceed to Gaivota Lagoon, one of the most renowned locations within the Santo Amaro region. Enclosed by soaring dunes and vast open vistas, it’s easy to appreciate why this national park is celebrated and frequently featured in photography across Brazil. The reflections on the lagoon's surface produce unforgettable visual memories.
Our last stop will be Serra Lagoon, situated at a slightly elevated point in the park. From this vantage, the horizon expands even further. As the breeze picks up and the light changes, the scenery takes on a surreal quality. Here, you’ll have the opportunity for one final swim or simply to soak in the breathtaking environment.
After about 4 hours of exploration in our off-road vehicle, we will return and drop you off at your hotel in Santo Amaro.
