Activity Overview
Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Santo Domingo at the appointed time. We will travel by comfortable minibus to Altos de Chavón, a beautifully recreated 16th-century Mediterranean village perched alongside the Chavón River.
During a 45-minute stroll, you'll have the opportunity to wander its picturesque streets, visiting landmarks such as the local church, the amphitheater, and the archaeological museum, which showcases the exquisite creations of nearby artisans, painters, and sculptors.
Afterward, we’ll board the minibus once more and venture to the Cave of Wonders, renowned as the most frequented underground cave in the Dominican Republic. Here, you will have the chance to delve into this natural marvel, taking in the breathtaking stalactites, flowing rivers, and the significant rock art left by the Taíno civilization.
Following our exploration, a short 30-minute drive leads us to Quisqueya, where we will visit the Barceló Historical Centre. Are you eager to sample the taste of the Dominican Republic’s flagship spirit?
At the Ron Barceló factory, you will discover the intriguing history behind this brand and the rich tradition of rum production in the Dominican Republic. A guided tour will take you through the distillation area, the maturation section, the aging cellar, and the bottling facility. Afterward, we will journey back to Santo Domingo, making a stop at a local restaurant for lunch along the way.

If not, you'll need to make your own way to the meeting point at Plaza de Colón in the Colonial Zone. The guide will be waiting next to the statue of Christopher Columbus.
