Santo Domingo Beyond the Walls Tour
Description
Join us on this exploration of Santo Domingo, where we will journey to attractions beyond the boundaries of the Colonial City, including Santa Bárbara, the Malecón, and the vibrant Chinatown.
Tour Overview
We will gather at Plaza de España at the designated time to embark on a captivating exploration of Santo Domingo. Are you prepared? Let's begin our adventure!
Our journey will commence as we head north, traversing the perimeter of the historic city. We will delve into the history of slavery in the nation by visiting La Negrera, the site where enslaved individuals were brought for sale and redistribution.
Next, we will stroll through the Santa Bárbara neighborhood, an area adorned with vibrant graffiti and historic sites such as the Castrense Cathedral. We’ll take a moment to appreciate its beautiful façade before proceeding to the Santa Bárbara Fort, where we will enjoy breathtaking views of the city—definitely a moment for photographs!
Our journey continues into Chinatown, where we will discover fascinating insights into the Chinese community residing in Santo Domingo, all while walking through streets animated by local product stalls.
To conclude our tour, we’ll reach the picturesque Santo Domingo Promenade, where we will see both the male and female obelisks.
After two hours of exploration, we will wrap up our experience in a central location within Santo Domingo.
