Culinary Adventure in Santo Domingo

At the designated time, we will gather at Arturo Bautista Pellerano Castro Square, famously called Parque Rosa. Here, our exploration will commence on foot through the Colonial City of Santo Domingo. Are you excited to savor the traditional flavors of the Dominican capital?

Our first stop will be at a local eatery, where we will embark on a journey into Dominican gastronomy. This visit will provide insight into the daily operations of their kitchens, the essential ingredients utilized, and the diverse dishes that grace Dominican tables, influenced by the seasons.

Next, we will proceed to a local confectionery shop, which offers sweets, beverages, and produce from various regions of the country. Here, we’ll have the opportunity to sample these treats and discover the unique ingredients and customs associated with each region.

As we stroll through the city, we will uncover its most notable landmarks, including the Panteón de la Patria and the Catedral Primada de América. Throughout the tour, we will share insights into the traditional dishes of Santo Domingo. For instance, do you know about quipe? This delightful pastry of Lebanese descent came to the island with the immigrants in the southern Dominican Republic.

Additionally, we will enjoy a selection of seasonal fruits and other sweets. We will also make our way to Santo Domingo's Chinatown to taste its renowned dishes - how about trying a delicious Chinese steamed bun?

Moreover, a visit to the Mercado Modelo, the city's largest market, is on the agenda, alongside other notable sites such as the Museo Casa de Tostado, Parque de la Independencia, and Little Haiti.
