Embark on a day excursion to Salto Alto, where you will discover three breathtaking waterfalls nestled in the Monte Plata province, deep within the tropical jungles of the Dominican Republic. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable experience!

Details of the Day Trip

Our adventure begins at the pre-arranged meeting point at the Reloj de Sol in Santo Domingo. From there, we will head northeast towards the Monte Plata province, an area brimming with tropical jungles, elevated terrain, and winding rivers, all enveloped by vibrant greenery. Let’s embark on this journey!

After approximately two hours of travel, we will arrive at Salto Alto. Here, we will take a brief 5-minute hike along a trail shaded by ferns, where you will have the chance to listen to the melodies of tropical birds.

Momentarily, the scenery will open up to unveil a stunning spectacle: a collection of three waterfalls cascading from heights of over 32 ft (10 m) into a pool of striking turquoise water.

You will be granted 3.5 hours of leisure time to unwind, swim beneath the falls, and appreciate the vistas from various viewpoints. Feel free to roam the smaller shallow ponds that offer a perfect spot for cooling off and enjoying the shade.

As our visit concludes, we will gather once more to begin our journey back to Santo Domingo. We will part ways at the original meeting point after a total of 8 enriching hours.
