Cies Islands Ferry Transfer
This ferry service offers access to the Cies Islands, often referred to as the "Island of the Gods". At the designated time, we will gather at Puerto Deportivo Juan Carlos I in Sangenjo for our boat ride to the islands.
After approximately 40 minutes at sea, you’ll reach one of Galicia's most incredible sites. You will have an entire day to wander through its stunning landscapes, relax on its vast beaches, or embark on hiking adventures through the lush forests.
Explore the lighthouse, Rhodes beach, and Alto do Príncipes. A visit to the Cies Islands will undoubtedly be a highlight! As the day comes to a close, you’ll catch the ferry back to Sangenjo, concluding your exploration around 7 pm.
Returning on Another Day
If you choose to extend your visit to another day, please indicate this during your booking. Keep in mind that if you plan to camp on the islands, prior authorization from the Galician Government is required.
Guided Tours During Low Season
From October 1 to May 14, your ticket to the Cíes Islands includes a 1-hour guided tour, as independent visits are not permitted during this season. An official guide will accompany you on the boat trip, providing insights into the key routes upon arrival. During the walking segments, expect fascinating anecdotes and information about the history and ecology of this beautiful Galician archipelago.
It is important to note that this guided tour is not available during the 10 days of high season during Holy Week, from the Friday before this holiday period until Easter Sunday.
Authorization from the Xunta de Galicia
During high season (from May 15 to September 30, including Easter week), travelers must present their own authorization from the Xunta de Galicia to enter the Cies Islands. This will be emailed to you promptly. For the remainder of the year, the guide will carry it for the duration of the tour.
Authorization for Campers
If you opt to stay at a campsite on the Cíes Islands, the campsite must handle the authorization. In the event of a cancellation, they are also responsible for this process. If the campsite doesn’t cancel the authorization, the shipping company will not be able to refund your ferry tickets.
Thus, should you need to cancel your trip to the Cíes Islands, start by contacting the campsite. Once you receive confirmation of the cancellation from the campsite, you can reach out to the shipping line (within the specified refund window) to manage the cancellation of your ferry tickets.
Additionally, once an authorization is linked to a shipping company, it cannot be transferred to another. Therefore, if you cancel your booking with this company, you will need to annul your authorization and apply for a new one.

Important information
Schedule & departure point
Please go to the Mar de Ons ferry offices to hand in the voucher. The complete address is Puerto Deportivo Juan Carlos I, Rúa do Porto, 36960 Sanxenxo. There you'll be shown where to board the ferry.
We recommend that you arrive at least 30 minutes in advance.
Necessary Documentation
The Cíes islands are a protected archipelago, with a daily visitor limit, and to be able to visit, you should obtain authorization from the Xunta de Galicia which the local provider will process.
In high season (from May 15 to September 30 and at Easter), once the authorization has been processed, you'll receive it by e-mail. You must bring it with you, as well as this voucher. If you prefer, you can request it at the ticket office on the day of your visit, as long as you arrive at least 25 minutes in advance. The rest of the year, we will not send it to you, as it'll be the guide himself who will bring it on the day of the tour.
If you still haven't received the authorization of the Xunta in your email 24 hours before the date of your visit, you can access the website of the Xunta and download the authorizations by following these steps:

- Once on the page, select option #3 "Search by date and visitor's document"
- After filling in your details, you'll be able to download the authorization directly
If for any reason any of the participants cannot attend the activity, please give at least 15 days' notice and indicate the name and surname of the person who will be absent so that the Xunta de Galicia can remove him/her from the list.
Authorization for campers
If you decide to stay at a campsite on the Cíes Islands, the campsite itself must process the authorization, or cancel it in case you want to cancel. If the authorization is not canceled by the campsite, the shipping company cannot cancel your boat tickets.
Meaning, if you want to cancel your trip to the Cíes Islands, you must contact the campsite first. Then, once the campsite confirms that it has processed the cancellation of your authorization, you must contact the shipping company (within the stipulated refund period) so that they can cancel your boat tickets.
Also, once an authorization is associated with a shipping company, it cannot be linked to another shipping company. Therefore, if you cancel your reservation with this company, you'll have to cancel your authorization and then process a new authorization.
Return ferry timetable
The return ferry from the Cíes Islands is at 7 pm.
