Free Walking Tour of Sofia
We will convene at the designated time in front of the Palace of Justice, providing an ideal starting point for our exploration of Sofia. From this moment, we will journey into the core of the historic district, where every step reveals something new.
This tour will delve into Sofia's rich history, showcasing the influences of diverse cultures and ideologies that have shaped this city. You will have the opportunity to admire its array of architectural styles!
Among our stops will be the remarkable Sveta Nedelya church, along with a sight of the Sofia coat of arms, followed by a visit to the intriguing small hermitage, Sveta Petka, known for its unique stone façade.
Continuing, we will encounter the remnants of Roman architecture, leading us to the Banya Bashi Mosque, a significant testament to the Ottoman heritage of Bulgaria. Additionally, we will visit the Sofia Synagogue and learn about the city's difficult chapters during the Second World War.
Other notable sites on our route include the Sofia Museum, the Bath House, the headquarters of the Bulgarian Communist Party, the Parliament, the Ivan Vazov National Theatre, and the Royal Palace. We will also stop by the Church of St. Sophia, an ancient Christian site that lent its name to the city.
To conclude our free walking tour, we will take in the breathtaking Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, renowned as one of the most stunning Orthodox structures globally. After two hours of exploration, we will finish our journey admiring this architectural marvel.

Important information
We'll meet in front of the Palace of Justice in Sofia, located on bul. "Vitosha" 2, next to the lion statues. We recommend to be at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the tour starts.
