Tour Description
At the scheduled time, we will collect you from your accommodation in Tashkent for a scenic drive lasting approximately 2.5 hours to Khujand. Are you prepared to cross the Tajikistan border?
Upon your arrival, a guided tour of Khujand awaits, as this ancient city has played a pivotal role along the Silk Road. Presently, it stands as a significant cultural and commercial center well-known for its vibrant market and rich ethnic diversity.
Our journey begins at the Khujand Palace, a grandeur inspired by the Peterhof Palace in St. Petersburg, symbolizing a cultural renaissance in Tajikistan. Closely located are the Khujand Fortress and the Museum of Archaeology for further exploration.
Next, we’ll proceed to the majestic Mausoleum of Sheikh Muslihiddin, dating back to the 15th century. Named after the esteemed Sheikh Muslihiddin, this structure holds great significance with the tomb of Sheikh Muslihiddin within it, attracting numerous pilgrims each year.
Our final stop will be the Orthodox Church of Mary Magdalene followed by some leisure time for shopping at the bustling Panjshanbe Bazaar, celebrated as one of the largest and most vibrant markets in the city.
After immersing yourself in the history and allure of Khujand, we will wrap up this 10-hour journey by returning you to your hotel in Tashkent.
