Shymkent Private Tour
Description
Embark on a private day excursion to Shymkent departing from Taskent, where you'll have the opportunity to explore the third largest city in Kazakhstan. Let's begin this adventure!
Tour Overview
At the established time, we will meet you at your accommodation in Taskent. Prepare yourself for this private journey to Shymkent! During this day, you will delve into significant locations along the Silk Road, uncovering remarkable monuments and taking in breathtaking landscapes that unite two distinct cultures.
Our 2-hour travel will lead us across the Kazakhstan border, revealing the picturesque scenery typical of Central Asia. We will traverse the historic paths of the Great Silk Road, a vital network of trade routes that once bridged the Mediterranean and East Asia. Additionally, we will pass Mount Kazygurt, which, according to legend, served as the resting place for Noah's Ark post-deluge.
Upon entering Kazakhstan, you'll be greeted by our guide and will switch to another vehicle for the continuation of our journey toward Shymkent. This city, with roots tracing back to the 9th century, offers a glimpse into its storied past. We will visit the ancient citadel, where remnants of the historical town, a mosque, and a towering minaret narrate the legacy of this ancient location.
Our stroll will take us through the lively shopping district of Ordabasy and the renowned Zher Ana Complex, an emblem of Kazakh freedom. We will subsequently explore Independence Park, an expansive green space inaugurated in 2011, now recognized as the largest park in Shymkent. You'll also enjoy a visit to Metallurgist? Park, a charming oasis created prior to World War II by prisoners from Germany and Japan.
Continuing our exploration, we will arrive at Arbat, often referred to as the "local Broadway." For those interested in history, the Museum of Political Repression Victims offers profound insights into the challenging years of Stalin-era oppression faced by the Kazakh population. Finally, we will visit St. Nicholas Cathedral and Abay Park, which features the Alley of Glory and memorials commemorating World War II.
After an enriching 8-hour day, we will transport you back to your hotel in Tashkent, wrapping up this memorable trip.
