Mount Fuji 2-Day Hike
Description
Are you ready to conquer the highest peak in Japan? This 2-day hiking route up Mount Fuji will take you to the summit. A unique experience combining nature, adventure and otherworldly landscapes.
Activity Details
Day 1
First thing in the morning, we'll meet at the LOVE sculpture in Shinjuku, in the heart of Tokyo. From there, we'll embark on a 3-hour journey to Mount Fuji, the perfect time to prepare for the great adventure. Two unforgettable days await us as we climb Japan's highest peak!
After arriving at the 5th station of the Yoshida route, at about 2,300 m (7,545 ft) above sea level, we'll put on our helmets and begin the ascent accompanied by certified mountain guides. We'll climb at a gentle and steady pace, ideal for people with no hiking experience.
During the hike, we'll take breaks to admire the surroundings and eat the food you have brought with you, with a breathtaking natural backdrop. As we ascend, stunning panoramic views await us: from a sea of clouds at the 7th station to the play of light that colours Mount Fuji at sunset.
Upon reaching the 8th station, at 3,400 m (11,154 ft) above sea level, a hearty dinner will await us at a mountain refuge, including curry with a hamburger or a vegetarian option. Afterwards, you can rest and refuel while gazing at the starry sky from above. A well-deserved rest before the big day!
Day 2
We'll get up before sunrise to get to the 9th station and watch the sun rise through the clouds. An image that will remain etched in your memory forever! After this unique experience, we'll continue the hike until we reach the summit of Mount Fuji, located 3,776 m (12,388 ft) above sea level.
After admiring the crater and enjoying the panoramic views from the summit, we'll begin our descent and take a long break at the 8th station shelter for breakfast, which includes 3 bread rolls with sausages or a vegetarian option.
Finally, we'll arrive back at the 5th station, from where we'll take the bus back to Tokyo. We'll say goodbye at the starting point in Shinjuku between 3 pm and 5 pm.
Hiking Equipment
During the booking process, you can select the option that includes hiking equipment hire: hiking boots, a rucksack, hiking sticks and a head torch. This is the ideal option if you don't have your own equipment or if you want to travel light from Tokyo.

Important information
On the day of the activity, we'll wait for you at the LOVE sculpture in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Please arrive at least 10 minutes beforehand.
Important Info
- The weather on Mount Fuji can change dramatically. Even if temperatures are high at the base, it can be winter-like at the summit. Rain, strong winds and sudden changes are common, even if the day seems clear when you start the route. Therefore, it's essential to wear appropriate clothing for the mountains, including warm, waterproof and windproof garments. Hiking boots with good grip are recommended, as well as a hat, gloves, sunglasses and sunscreen.
- UV rays are particularly intense in the mountains. Use sunscreen and apply it frequently. Sunglasses are also essential; ideally, they should completely cover your eyes.
- It's not possible to join the tour from another meeting point.
- Alcohol consumption is not permitted during the activity or in the refuge.
- The included meals are dinner and breakfast. Vegetarian options are available upon prior request, but halal or special dietary restrictions cannot be accommodated.
- We recommend bringing water, portable meals, and snacks (such as chocolate or nuts), as there will only be one long break scheduled for lunch and a few short stops as needed. It's important to eat well during the walk so that you do not run out of energy. Bottled drinks are sold at the refuges, but quantities are limited, so you may not find the type you want, or it may be sold out.
- It's not possible to leave luggage on the bus. There are lockers at the fifth station for an additional cost.
- Sunrise is usually viewed from the ninth station for safety reasons.
