Itinerary for the Dougga & Bulla Regia Tour
Your journey begins with a convenient pick-up from your Tunis hotel at 8 am, where you will board a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle for your expedition to the archaeological wonders of Dougga and Bulla Regia.
After approximately two hours of travel through the Tunisian landscape, you will arrive at your first destination: Bulla Regia, one of the premier Roman archaeological sites in the country. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, you will explore this significant location while uncovering the history and origins of the ancient Punic, Berber, and Roman settlement, highlighted by some of the most exquisitely preserved ruins, including stunningly vibrant mosaic floors.
Your next stop will lead you to Dougga, situated just over an hour away. Upon reaching this historic site, you will take a moment to relish a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, rejuvenating yourself for the afternoon’s explorations.
With your appetite satisfied, the tour continues as you visit the grand Roman theatre of Dougga, built in the 2nd century CE. This impressive structure had the capacity to accommodate over a third of the town’s inhabitants during its prime.
Follow your guide as you meander through the ruins of Dougga, often regarded as the best-preserved Roman town in North Africa. Highlights of your visit will include the Square of the Rose of the Winds, the market, the capitol temple, the forum, and the baths.
