Uyuni to San Pedro de Atacama 3-Day Tour

Embark on a captivating 3-day journey through the Uyuni region aboard a 4x4, where you will explore its iconic sights. Among the highlights are the renowned Salar de Uyuni, the Train Museum, as well as the remarkable Colorada and Verde lagoons.

Description

Day 1: Uyuni

Our adventure begins at the designated meeting point on Calle Colon, ready to explore this astonishing region. The journey starts with a visit to the Train Museum in Uyuni, where we can admire historic steam locomotives that once transported silver from local mines.

Following this, we will proceed to Colchani, the gateway to the Salar de Uyuni, where a variety of handcrafted salt products are available for purchase. This will lead us into the breathtaking salt flats, where you'll have opportunities to capture the beauty of a landscape that feels almost otherworldly, before enjoying a delightful picnic lunch.

Our exploration continues to Incahuasi Island, situated amid the salt flat, offering stunning panoramic views of the expansive white landscape. At the day's conclusion, we’ll settle for the night in Candelaria or San Juan.

Day 2: Uyuni Lagoons - Huayllajara

We will rise early to enjoy a continental breakfast before diving deeper into the wonders of Uyuni. Our first destination is the Eduardo Abaroa National Reserve, where picturesque lagoons and desert vistas await you.

The next stop is the town of San Juan, where spectacular views of the Ollagüe Volcano can be appreciated. Here, we will indulge in lunch before moving on to the Cañapa, Charchota, Honda, and Hedionda lagoons, where you might spot graceful pink flamingos.

Our day continues with a crossing of the Siloli Desert, showcasing naturally sculpted formations created by the wind. To conclude our activities, we will visit the Colorada lagoon to observe its striking reddish hues. The reason behind this unique coloration will be revealed during the tour.

Finally, we will return to our accommodation to unwind and recharge for the next day.

Day 3: Huayllajara - San Pedro de Atacama

On our final day, we will enjoy breakfast early before heading out to see the local geysers. Afterward, we will explore the fascinating rock formations of the Salvador Dalí Desert, a name inspired by the renowned Spanish artist, whose story you will learn during our exploration.

We will then navigate through the desert to reach the Verde Lagoon and Blanca Lagoon, both nestled at the feet of the Licancabur Volcano. The breathtaking scenery, with the volcano looming behind, will leave you in awe. We will then board our 4x4 to cross into Chile on our way to San Pedro de Atacama, where our tour will conclude. Guests will be dropped off at the main station around 1 pm.

Accommodation

This tour includes two nights of lodging: the first night in either Candelaria or San Juan, and the second night in Huayllajara. During the reservation process, you can select from two types of accommodation:

• Private room with an en-suite bathroom exclusively for you
• Shared room with a communal bathroom shared with fellow travelers

Please note that accommodations provide electricity, although availability may be limited on the second day due to its secluded location. Power is supplied by a generator, which also facilitates phone charging. Additionally, a small heater is available for rent in the room, subject to availability.
