Description
On this free walking tour of Vienna, we'll explore the historic centre of Austria's capital city to discover its most iconic monuments and points of interest.
Tour Details
The free guided tour of Vienna will start at the central Helmut Zilk-Platz, located between the Albertina building and the Tourist Information Office. First, we'll see the Danubius fountain at the Albertinaplatz—do you know the origin of this fountain?
We'll continue our sightseeing tour through Burggarten Park towards the majestic Hofburg Imperial Palace. As we gaze at its refined façade, we'll learn about the history of this emblematic building, whose past is closely linked to intrigues, love affairs, and conspiracies...
Our next stops will be in front of Josefsplatz and the Memorial against War and Fascism, which will provide insight into the somber history of the Austrian capital during the first half of the 20th century. Passing through the Neuer Markt square, we'll head towards other iconic buildings in Vienna, such as the Mozart House and St. Stephen's Cathedral. From the outside of both, we'll review the origins of these significant places in the city.
Finally, we'll end our free tour of Vienna two hours later in front of the Vienna State Opera, one of the musical temples of Europe!
