Spanish Riding School Guided Tour

Tour Overview 

On the scheduled day, we’ll gather at the main entrance of the Spanish Riding School, situated within the magnificent Hofburg Palace in the very center of Vienna. Following the arrival of all participants, our guided tour will commence, providing insights into the facilities.

During the journey, you'll discover the history behind Emperor Ferdinand I, who brought purebred Spanish horses to the Habsburg court in Austria. This initiative eventually led to the crossing of Spanish stallions with local mares, resulting in the distinct and celebrated Lipizzaner breed.

Your first stop will be the historic stables, where these majestic white stallions are housed and cared for. Here, you’ll gain insight into their daily routines and the strong connection they share with their riders.

Next up is the Winter Riding School. You’ll be awe-inspired by the grandeur of this magnificent 18th-century Baroque riding hall, which serves as the main arena for prestigious imperial galas.

Continuing our exploration, we’ll head to the Summer Riding School, where you’ll explore the courtyard and outdoor facilities, a unique area that features a training arena framed by the stunning Hofburg palace.
