Vienna Hofburg Orchestra Concert
Description
If you have a passion for classical music, attending a performance by the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra is an experience you won’t want to miss. This concert showcases renowned works from Mozart and Strauss, promising an enchanting evening within the historic Hofburg Palace.
Reasons to Experience a Concert by the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra
Founded in 1971 by Gert Hofbauer, this ensemble emerged from a collaboration of musicians from the principal orchestral groups in Vienna. The orchestra was created to promote and celebrate the beauty of Viennese waltz alongside operetta melodies.
Through numerous performances broadcast on radio and television, and engagements at prestigious symphonic concerts globally, the orchestra earned significant recognition. Following Hofbauer's passing in 2017, Giuseppe Montesano was appointed as the new conductor, ensuring the continuation of its celebrated legacy.
This ticket allows you to immerse yourself in iconic compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Strauss family, performed by a talented group of 40 musicians. The experience is further enhanced with the presence of distinguished opera and classical ballet artists who will captivate your senses.
Concert Venue
The concert takes place in one of Vienna’s most extraordinary settings: the Banquet Hall of the Hofburg Palace.
Also known as the Winter Palace, this venue boasts magnificent ceiling paintings by the artist Schramm, reflecting the motto of Franz Joseph I: "Viribus Unitis" ("with united forces"). The central artwork illustrates Austria surrounded by allegorical figures representing religion, justice, bravery, wisdom, art, and agriculture.
