Description
During your reservation, you can choose from several hiking paths in Talampaya National Park. Each adventure includes transportation from the assembly point and the guidance of a Spanish-speaking expert, commencing promptly from Águila Base.
All hiking options present a moderate level of difficulty and vary in length:
Lost City (3 hours)
We will depart from the meeting location and head towards the Lost City of Talampaya. Upon reaching our destination, we will leave our vehicle and engage in a 1 hour and 45 minute trek.
During this journey through the Lost City, you will encounter some of the park’s most stunning geological structures. The distinctive red rock formations are a hallmark of the region you are visiting: La Rioja, located in the northwestern part of Argentina.
Rainbow Canyon (4 hours)
After gathering at the meeting point, we will proceed to one of the most impressive gorges in Talampaya National Park. Our vehicle will be parked at the trailhead, and our hiking segment will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, leading us to the Rainbow Canyon.
This canyon, true to its name, is famous for its vibrant colors found in the rock formations. As we near the canyon, you will be able to fully appreciate the landscape and the rich palette of hues that arise from various natural processes that will be revealed along the route.
Lost City and Rainbow Canyon (4.5 hours)
This combined excursion, with a total duration of 4.5 hours, allows for the exploration of the highlights from both itineraries. Our hike in Talampaya will feature a 1 hour and 45 minute journey as we unite the attractions of both routes into a memorable adventure.
