Journey Through North York Moors Park & Whitby
Our adventure begins at a designated meeting point across from the Dean Court Hotel in York at the specified time, after which we will embark on a picturesque drive through the beautiful Vale of York.
The first destination will be Kilburn White Horse Hill, where you will discover the story behind the monumental figure etched into the hillside in the mid-19th century. Following this, we proceed to Helmsley, home to a medieval castle, where you can stroll through the village.
As our journey continues, we will venture into the North York Moors National Park, passing through Hutton-le-Hole, along with a view of Blakey Ridge, the highest point in the moors, and Ralph's Cross. Our next stop will be Lealholm.
After exploring Lealholm, we will set our sights on Whitby, while we share insights about the historical significance of the town. Upon arrival, we will take a moment at the Captain Cook statue and the iconic Whale Bone arch; after which you can opt to be dropped off at either the harbour or the abbey. You will then have three hours of free time to immerse yourself in Whitby’s attractions including the Endeavour Experience, the Captain Cook Museum, and the Bark Endeavour. Make sure to enjoy the renowned fish and chips at the celebrated Magpie Café.
Afterward, our bus will take us to Goathland, where you’ll uncover insights about the fictional settings 'Hogsmead' from the Harry Potter series and 'Aidensfield' from the beloved British television show Heartbeat.
The tour will then lead us to the Hole of Horcum, followed by our return journey to York, concluding after approximately eight hours.
