Tour Overview

We will gather at the central square of Guatapé before embarking on our adventure. Are you prepared to uncover one of the area's most distinctive natural environments?

Prior to our departure, we’ll provide an overview of the geography, historical significance, and ecological relevance of the Guatapé mountains. Our journey will commence along the Camino de las Tres Esquinas, a traditional trail that has served countless travelers for over six centuries. As we progress, you’ll observe the evolving landscape as we venture deeper into the vibrant cloud forest.

Our path winds through the rural territory of El Roble, where the region’s impressive biodiversity can be easily appreciated. Towering trees draped in moss and lichen frame our route, and with some luck, we might hear the calls of native birds or even encounter small mammals and amphibians that thrive in this cool and moist setting.

The journey encompasses roughly 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) and includes segments along the Cañada Fea and Calderas trails. During this part, you will discover the reasons why this area is often referred to as a natural water reservoir for the region. The nutrient-rich soil adeptly absorbs and retains moisture, sustaining a network of rivers and streams.

After approximately 4 hours of hiking, we will conclude our tour back at the main square of Guatapé, marking the end of our experience together.
