Embark on an exhilarating journey to scale the remarkable Misti Volcano in southern Peru with this two-day expedition departing from Arequipa. Experience breathtaking natural vistas as you ascend to heights exceeding 5800 meters above sea level.

Day 1: Arequipa to Misti Volcano

Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your Arequipa hotel between 7:30 and 8 am, followed by a 4x4 ride towards the Misti Volcano utilizing the Chiguata route. After approximately two hours of travel, we will arrive at an elevation of 3300 meters (approximately 10800 feet). Are you ready to embark on this thrilling experience?

From this point, the ascent will commence on foot as we traverse the slopes of the volcano. Along the way, you will be treated to spectacular views until we reach the base camp at 4800 meters (roughly 15700 feet).

After a six-hour trek, we’ll enjoy dinner and settle in for the night at the campsite, resting before the next day's activities.

Day 2: From Misti Volcano Back to Arequipa

Following an early morning wake-up call, we will savor a hearty breakfast to replenish our energy. It’s time to continue the ascent to the peak of Misti Volcano.

We will strive to ascend to 5825 meters (about 19110 feet). Upon reaching the summit, you'll have an hour of free time to capture stunning photographs of the breathtaking crater views, making your friends and family envious!

Finally, we will commence our descent back to 3300 meters, where a 4x4 vehicle will be waiting to transport us back to Arequipa. We anticipate returning to your hotels by around 2 pm.

Accommodation

This experience includes a night’s stay along with breakfast at the Nido de Aguilas base camp.

Eligibility

Please note that participation in this activity requires good physical fitness due to the challenging terrain.

Pick-Up Information

Hotel pick-up is provided for accommodations located within a 1-kilometer radius of Plaza de Armas in Arequipa. If your hotel falls outside this area, you'll need to meet at the Plaza de Armas at the scheduled time.
