Argüeso Guided Tour
Description
Unveil fascinating insights about the pre-Roman tribes of northern Spain with this immersive experience at the Cantabrian site of Argüeso.
Guided Tour of Argüeso
Your adventure begins at the Cantabrian settlement of Argüeso, where we will welcome you at your preferred time for an exclusive guided exploration of this outdoor museum. This journey through history allows you to uncover the architecture and traditions from the Iron Age.
As we enter this enclave, fortified with stone and timber walls, discover seven huts that echo the lifestyle from the 7th to the 1st centuries BC. Each dwelling serves as a replica of the fortified villages from Barones, La Ulaña, Cildá, and Monte Bernorio.
You will gain insights into the construction materials that defined these homes, alongside viewing accurate reproductions of falcatas swords, daggers, helmets, shields, and belts from that era. Within one of the huts, admire more exquisite pottery influenced by the Celtiberian culture. Interestingly, it took at least eight Roman legions to conquer the Cantabrian tribes.
Your experience will also include a closer look at a replica of the Zurita stele, a remarkable indigenous artifact that has sparked numerous theories. Don’t miss the guide's insights on these intriguing hypotheses.
