Embark on a serene hike around Lake Duluti that offers an exceptional chance to witness an array of bird species, including stunning grey herons and cormorants. This peaceful haven hosts over 130 different bird species, creating an ideal setting for bird enthusiasts!

Description

We will gather at the Lake Duluti Registration Office, where a 4x4 vehicle awaits to transport us to Lake Duluti, roughly a 20-minute drive from Arusha. During our journey, you'll enjoy views of the Great Rift Valley.

Upon reaching this natural reserve located in northern Tanzania, we will commence our hiking adventure along the shores of Lake Duluti. This exploration will provide us with information about the lake's formation within a volcanic crater and insights into the distinct flora and fauna that inhabit this extraordinary area.

As we trek, we'll focus on identifying the various reptiles and bird species we encounter. With an ecosystem that includes more than 130 bird species, watch for ospreys, cormorants, grey herons, egrets, and kingfishers. The journey promises stunning panoramas of both Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru.

Our lakeside exploration will finish at the meeting point, where a 4x4 will be ready to return us to Arusha approximately 4 hours after we set out.
