Historical Train Tour

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Asunción at 8 am, leading us straight to the train museum situated within the historic San Francisco railway station.

At the museum, you'll have the opportunity to view artifacts related to the Ferrocarril Carlos Antonio López, the pioneering train of the continent. Here, various tools and items associated with Paraguay's railway legacy will unfold before you, including one of the earliest locomotives imported from England for passenger operations.

The tour proceeds to the Botanical Garden station, where an antique steam locomotive awaits. After delving into its storied past, we will depart from the capital, retracing the path of the first train in South America towards Pirayú, renowned for its station featuring two prominent towers—the only one of its kind in inland Paraguay.

You will have an hour to enjoy lunch in Pirayú before we continue our journey to another pivotal stop of the inaugural train: Sapucai, affectionately known as the city of trains. At the Railway Museum there, trace back to workshops established in 1895 and feast your eyes on splendid steam locomotives, true treasures in the history of transportation.

Concluding our day, we will return you to your hotel in Asunción by 3 pm.
