Barcelona Ghost Tour
Description
Lost souls wander tormented through the streets: the ghosts of Barcelona. Get to know their stories with this night tour of the city.
Itinerary
They believed unfailingly in the existence of evil, convinced that the devil possessed the souls of innocents. Exorcisms were performed on all those suspected of being 'possessed', but these rituals rarely succeeded... ghosts continued to haunt the afflicted.
Barcelona is rich in turbulent tales, beginning our exploration with some intriguing legends next to the Triumphal Arch, which serves as our meeting and departure point for this night tour of the city.
Inspired by the book “Fantasmas de Barcelona” (Ghosts of Barcelona) by Sylvia Lagarda-Mata, we will traverse the Sant Pere, Santa Caterina, and La Ribera neighborhoods, searching for enigmatic mysteries... On Portal Nou street, near the Triumphal Arch, the apparitions of a miserly blacksmith and his apprentice occasionally manifest to unsuspecting passers-by, driven by the remnants of a dark murder...
As we progress, we will halt beside the Santa Caterina Market, which most do not realize is built above an old convent where, according to legend, Satan once visited the nuns. In efforts to expel him, black masses were conducted, though their outcomes were not always favorable...
Our journey also takes us to other notable sites across Barcelona, each carrying its own haunting narrative, culminating in front of the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar. Throughout history, congregants have reported encounters with strange shadows and spirits harboring grievances in the realm of the living...
