Palermo Free Walking Tour
Description
Discover one of the most expansive and scenic areas in Buenos Aires with this complimentary tour of Palermo. Our journey will take us past the Botanical Garden, the Galileo Galilei Planetarium, and more!
Tour Overview
We'll gather at the designated hour in Plaza Italia, adjacent to the Garibaldi Monument. From this point, we will embark on our complimentary tour of Palermo, renowned for its vast beauty and charm within Buenos Aires!
During our stroll, you'll admire the picturesque tree-draped streets and statuesque houses that define this neighborhood's character. Our first stop will embrace one of Palermo's highlights: the Carlos Thays Botanical Garden, a stunning green area spanning 7 hectares that hosts a variety of plant species.
Following that, we'll navigate through the Ecopark, a vital site for the protection of endangered species. Here, we'll deepen our understanding of ecosystems, Argentina's diverse wildlife, and the significance of environmental conservation. Our exploration will also take us to the Plaza Intendente Seeber, a shaded area adorned with a stone pergola, sculptures of deer, and a statue honoring General Juan Manuel de Rosas!
Next, we'll make our way to the notable Monument to the Magna Carta and the Four Regions of Argentina, gifted by Spain to celebrate the country's centenary in 1910. It's commonly referred to as the "Monument of the Spaniards." We will then stroll to the Garden of the Poets, where we can wander through a collection of busts dedicated to celebrated writers including Alfonsina Storni, Jorge Luis Borges, and Dante Alighieri.
As we progress through the Palermo area, we'll visit the Rose Garden, home to over 1,800 roses and the captivating Andalusian Patio. Did you know this patio was a gift from the City Council of Seville, with its construction materials shipped all the way to Buenos Aires?
Our tour will wrap up as we pass the Urquiza Monument and arrive at the Galileo Galilei Planetarium. Here, we will conclude our free exploration of Palermo after approximately 2 to 2.5 hours of sightseeing.
