Tour Overview

Our journey will commence at the Plaza de San Juan de Dios, located in the center of Cádiz. Here, you will begin an engaging tour that highlights two of the city's most monumental edifices from its golden age.

As we wander through the charming Old Town and pass beneath the Arco de la Rosa, which was once a gateway in the Medieval city fortifications, you will arrive at the Cádiz Cathedral. This magnificent structure, affectionately dubbed the "New Cathedral" by locals known as gaditanos, was erected due to overcrowding in the earlier 16th-century church. Its blend of architectural styles—Baroque, Rococo, and Neoclassical—beautifully illustrates the lengthy 116-year construction period.

Your next destination is the Torre Tavira, standing as the tallest edifice in Cádiz's historic quarter. After taking in its impressive baroque architecture, we will ascend one of its 129 panoramic vantage points, allowing for a stunning view of the city and its bay.

The Tavira Tower also houses a Cámara Oscura, which you will get to experience firsthand. Using a periscope, you'll witness a live, moving projection of the vibrant activities occurring outside, creating an extraordinary optical illusion that brings distant sights much closer!

Cathedral Museum Access

This tour includes entry to the Cathedral Museum. However, please note that we will not be visiting it as part of the scheduled tour. You will have the opportunity to explore this museum at your leisure once the guided portion has concluded.
