Our adventure begins at Via Sant'Ignazio da Laconi, number 64, setting the stage for a captivating exploration of Cagliari's underground. Underneath the bustling city lies a concealed array of tunnels, cisterns, quarries, and crypts, all hewn from the very limestone bedrock that supports Cagliari today. Once off-limits, these underground passages have been meticulously restored and are now available for your exploration!

The first highlight is the Galleria Rifugio dell'Istituto dei Salesiani, an impressive 120-meter (393 feet) tunnel historically used as a refuge during the 1943 bombings. Now softly illuminated by candlelight, the tunnel invites you to immerse yourself in its poignant past.

As we proceed through the charming Stampace and Marina neighborhoods, we will arrive at the Crypt of Santa Restituta, a natural cavern steeped in captivating local folklore.

Next, we head to the Marina district to visit the Museum of the Treasury and Archaeological Area of Sant'Eulalia. This archaeological site extends over 900 square meters (9,687 sq ft) beneath the Sant'Eulalia church and showcases artifacts from multiple historical eras, granting a fascinating peek into the city's rich heritage.
