Join us on a strawberry farm tour in Constanza, where we will explore a local farm nestled in the valley of the Dominican Central Cordillera. Enjoy fresh strawberries and juice during this delightful experience!

Tour Description

We'll gather at the designated time outside the central pavilion of Anacaona Park. From this point, a brief drive will take us to a local strawberry farm located just beyond Constanza.

Upon reaching the farm, friendly farmworkers will warmly welcome us and provide insights into the strawberry farming practices specific to this area of the Central Cordillera in the Dominican Republic. A guided walking tour will lead us through the strawberry fields, where we will uncover the various strawberry types cultivated in this rich valley.

As we delve into the methods for maintaining healthy crops, we'll discover why this mountainous environment is perfect for growing strawberries, which thrive in a mild climate. Fun fact: a single strawberry plant can yield berries for up to three months! If we visit during the season, we’ll even have the opportunity to try our hand at picking fresh strawberries, selecting the ripest and most succulent ones.

Additionally, we will observe the necessary practices of soil preparation, irrigation, and temperature management crucial for producing top-quality strawberries. To wrap up our farm visit, we will enjoy a refreshing strawberry juice prepared right on the spot. Plus, each participant will receive a package of fresh strawberries to take home and enjoy!

After an enriching 3-hour experience, we will conclude our tour and part ways at the original meeting point.
