Arica + Azapa Valley Exploration

Your journey will begin with a pickup from your accommodation in Arica between 9 am and 10 am, followed by a transfer to the city’s historic core. Here, you'll join a walking tour that will lead you through the key highlights of this charming locale, situated at the northern tip of the Chilean coast.

As we commence our exploration of Arica, famously dubbed "the city of eternal spring", we will stroll along the scenic beaches of Chinchorro and Las Machas. Our next point of interest will be the picturesque St. Mark's Cathedral, a historic building dating back to the time when Arica was part of Peru. Following this, we'll visit the Museo de Sitio Colón 10, where the remains of an ancient cemetery of the Chinchorros, the pre-Columbian people from this region, can be viewed.

Continuing our route, we'll pass by the Arica House of Culture and the historic railway station that once linked to La Paz. The city tour will culminate at the iconic Morro de Arica, offering breathtaking vistas of both the urban landscape and the shimmering Pacific coast.

After exploring Arica, we will proceed to the outskirts to discover the Azapa Valley. Here, we'll admire the remarkable geoglyph land art of Sombrero Hill. Our journey will also lead us to the Museum of San Miguel de Azapa, where you can delve into the fascinating history of the Chinchorro mummies.

As a delightful conclusion, we will visit a local farm in the Azapa Valley to enjoy a tasting of the region's exquisite olives. After this experience, we will return to your hotel in Arica, estimating our arrival around 2:30 pm.
