Cat Ba Bike Tour

Embark on a cycling adventure on Cat Ba Island that promises a unique exploration of its beauty. We’ll discover the Military Hospital Cave, engage with a local beekeeping family, and savor breathtaking views of Lan Ha Bay. Let’s get pedaling!

Tour Overview

We’ll gather at 80 Nui Ngoc in Khe Sau, where you’ll be provided with a bike and helmet, along with essential safety information. Our route will take us along the borders of Cat Ba National Park, a protected area featuring dramatic mountains, verdant tropical landscapes, and rice fields. Ready to ride?

Just a short distance of 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) will lead us to our first destination: the Military Hospital Cave. This intriguing three-level shelter was once a hospital and secret operation base during the Vietnam War. Fascinatingly, this underground facility even contained a cinema!

After our exploration of the cave, we’ll proceed to the entrance of Cat Ba National Park. Here, we’ll pause to discover the unique local flora and fauna while catching our first glimpses of the stunning island terrain.

Next, we will arrive at Hien Hao commune, where a local beekeeping family will welcome us. We will have the opportunity to sample their freshly produced honey and replenish our energy with local fruit amidst a picturesque rural backdrop.

Our ride continues through picturesque rice paddies until we reach a viewpoint that offers sweeping vistas of Lan Ha Bay. The view of its emerald waters and scattered islets will surely be a highlight of our journey.

After cycling for 11 kilometers (6.8 miles), we will leave our bikes close to Hien Hao Beach and take a public bus back to Cat Ba's center, concluding our tour after a delightful 3.5-hour experience.
