Day Trip to Oxapampa

Our journey begins at 8 am at Leopoldo Krausse Avenue in Villa Rica. From this meeting point, we will travel for approximately an hour and a half to reach the picturesque village of Oxapampa and enjoy a day full of activities.

Upon arrival, a guided tour of Oxapampa awaits, where we will uncover the intriguing history of the area. Did you know that this town was established by Austro-German immigrants? It was the second settlement of its kind, following the nearby town of Pozuzo.

As we stroll through the village, you will notice the uniquely crafted wooden structures, predominantly showcasing European-style architecture. Among these, the church of Santa Rosa stands out, representing a fine example of Germanic colonial design.

Our next stop will be a handicraft shop, where you'll have the opportunity to purchase some charming souvenirs. Following this, we will visit the Floralp dairy plant, where you will witness the process behind their exquisite range of cheeses and yogurts.

Continuing on, we will enter the Wharapo, a mill that processes sugar cane juice for the production of traditional beverages, and you'll have the chance to sample these delightful drinks!

After our factory visit, we will venture into the Selva Encantadora de Oxapampa (Enchanted Jungle of Oxapampa), where we will explore the Tunki Cave, characterized by its stunning stalactites and stalagmites amidst lush vegetation.

To conclude our day, we will pause at a ranch, allowing you free time to engage in activities such as canoeing or horseback riding. After experiencing the best that Oxapampa offers, we will return to Villa Rica, where we expect to drop you off at the starting point by around 6 pm.
