Embark on an exceptional adventure to the Enchanted Valley of La Rioja, an essential visit while in Villa Union!

Description

Your experience begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Villa Union at the designated time. We will depart in a sturdy 4x4 vehicle, driving along the famed National Route 40. This iconic highway spans the western region of Argentina, linking the south to the north, and guiding us towards one of La Rioja's most mesmerizing sites—the remarkable Vallecito Encantado, or the Enchanted Valley.

After traversing the diverse terrains of La Rioja, we will arrive at this stunning natural site and set off on a low-difficulty hiking excursion through the Vallecito Encantado. The hike will last around 45 minutes, leading us to an elevation of up to 1,300 meters (4,265 feet).

As we navigate through the Vallecito Encantado, you will notice a striking depression emerging from the surrounding arid landscape. Looking eastward, the plain is enclosed by the Cerros Colorados, while to the west, the peaks of the Sierra de Maz are visible, as National Route 40 cuts through from the southwest to the northeast.

Throughout our exploration of this exceptional area, you will encounter numerous fascinating rock formations. Among these, one formation stands out, known as La Copa del Mundo or "The World Cup," which closely resembles the trophy won by Argentina in the 2022 Qatar World Cup. Additionally, you will be enchanted by other intriguing geoforms, such as the Mexican Hat and El Barco.

After our hike concludes, we will return to Villa Union, with an estimated arrival time at your hotel of about 3 hours post-departure.
