Meteora Sunset Trip
The iconic monasteries of Meteora are a compelling reason to journey to Greece. This excursion from Kalambaka allows you to experience the enchanting sunset in this remarkable location, along with the opportunity to explore one or two of the UNESCO World Heritage monasteries.
Your day will begin with a pickup from your accommodation in Kalambaka or Kastraki early in the morning as we head towards Meteora. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you will delve into the rich history surrounding these soaring rock pillars, which rise over 600 meters, and the monasteries that majestically crown their summits.
Originally comprising 24 monasteries, 13 remain today, with six of these open to visitors: The Grand Meteora Monastery, St. Nicholas Monastery, Monastery of the Holy Trinity, St. Stephen's Monastery, Roussanou, and Varlaam Monasteries. On this excursion, you will have the chance to explore one or two of these awe-inspiring structures, bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun.
Additionally, we will visit the Byzantine church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, an 11th-century gem nestled under the towering Meteora cliffs.
As the day draws to a close, you will witness the spectacular sight of the sun sinking behind the monasteries. Take your time to admire and capture the sunset, a scene reminiscent of the Eagle's Nest from Game of Thrones.
After this enchanting experience, we will return you to your hotel in Kalambaka or Kastraki under the starry sky.

To enter the monasteries, visitors must follow a strict dress code:
- Sleeveless clothing and shorts are not permitted.
- Shoulders and knees must always be covered.
- Women must wear a long skirt, as trousers on women are not permitted in the monasteries.
