The name reflects the city's significance, known as the "mother" from which many other cities, like San Miguel de Tucumán, Salta, and Córdoba, were established.

Next, we will explore Aguirre Park, one of Santiago del Estero’s prominent green spaces. Our journey continues as we visit the renowned Libertad Square. Here, we'll disembark for a leisurely stroll, enjoying the city's most monumental area, showcasing the stunning exterior of the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora del Carmen and the Bicentennial Cultural Centre.
