Upon reservation, you have the option to select from two distinct tours. Both include a 9 am hotel pickup in Chaves, an English-speaking guide, and a return transfer. Below, you will find the details of each tour itinerary:

Journey Through Chaves, Boticas, and Montalegre

Your adventure begins with a pickup at your Chaves hotel as we set off to explore the scenic region of Trás-os-Montes. Our first destination is Alto Tâmega, notable for its stunning villages.

The first village we will explore is Montalegre, known for its historic castle that dates back to the 13th century. We will admire this majestic structure perched on a hillslope and then proceed to the Montalegre Ecomuseum, where you will gain insights into the town's rich history and cultural heritage.

Next, we will head to Boticas, a quaint village nestled in the heart of Alto Tâmega, characterized by its charming stone residences. Here, a visit to the Rural Museum awaits, showcasing traditional agricultural tools and various ethnographic artifacts. After our exploration, you will have an hour of leisure time in Boticas to savor lunch and indulge in local Portuguese cuisine.

Following this culinary interlude, our journey resumes in Chaves, where the medieval fortress stands as a testament to past conflicts between Portugal and Spain. We will stroll by the Roman bridge of Trajano and the renowned thermal baths of Chaves before concluding the tour with a drop-off back at your hotel. The tour wraps up at 5 pm.

This alternative tour also begins with a visit to Chaves, similar to the previous itinerary. From there, we will head to Vila Pouca de Aguiar, where the natural beauty of the Parque de Pedras Salgadas awaits to be discovered.

Our journey continues to Valpaços, another gem in the Trás-os-Montes region, featuring a visit to the Wine Museum, where you will learn about the area's esteemed wine-making tradition. The day concludes at your hotel around 5 pm.
